Cravings? Don’t Cut Them, Crowd Them.

Content.

It’s 3pm. You’ve been “good” all day… but the snack cupboard is calling your name.

You grab a piece of chocolate. Then another. But 20 minutes later, you're still hungry and by dinner, you're tired, moody, and hangry.

Sound familiar? Here’s the thing - you don’t need to cut out the chocolate.

Try This Instead: The Crowding Strategy. Instead of focusing on what to remove, we focus on what to add.

Let’s say you’re craving chocolate at 3pm. Great! Keep the chocolate but add something that also supports your energy and appetite.

Ideas to crowd your plate include: Fruit; Nuts or seeds; Cheese and crackers or Hummus and veggie sticks.

This combo gives you protein, fibre, and healthy fats - which helps you feel satisfied.

Why it Works:

  • Helps prevent over-eating of “fun” foods in a mindless, rushed way

  • Keeps blood sugar levels (and energy!) more stable

  • Reduces guilt and builds trust with your body

This strategy has been a game-changer for so many of my clients.
You can have your cake and eat it too - while feeling good!

Recipe Recommendation. Chicken Tenderloins.

I found this gem on Big Man’s World when I was scrambling for a Tuesday dinner (shout out to Monday leftovers for letting me down 😅). It’s quick, juicy, and super versatile.

It went down a treat in a wrap with some avocado, sauerkraut, lettuce, tomatoes and a spicy honey mustard dressing mustard (I ditched the mayo and it still tasted great!). It’s Jordan approved too haha.

Product Recommendation. Seed and Sprout Wooden Chopping Board.

Mixing things up from food this week…

If you’re looking to reduce microplastic exposure, this wooden chopping board from Seed & Sprout is a great swap.

I love this brand for their eco ethos, and this board was one of my first kitchen upgrades. FYI: the medium size is more than big enough!
